Why Some Eye Creams Just Don't Cut It!

Why Some Eye Creams Just Don't Cut It!

Let's talk about eye creams, shall we?

They're the tiny bottles of hope that promise to banish dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines. But sometimes, they just don't seem to work. Why? And what can we do about it?

When our eyes start to show signs of aging, it can feel like a personal attack. It's a reminder that time is marching on, and we're not invincible anymore. The loss of youthful vibrancy around our eyes can make us feel tired, stressed, and, well, old.

The beauty industry is a master of marketing. They know exactly how to tug at our heartstrings and sell us products we don't necessarily need. Claims like "instant wrinkle reduction" and "miraculous dark circle eraser" can be tempting, but they're often overblown.

Some claims to look out for: Collagen creams that don't actually stimulate collagen production. Moisturizing products for mature skin that don't actually contain the right oils/butters to help lock in your moisture and prevent water loss. Eye balms that claim to "hydrate" or "restore" without actually containing water-loving ingredients to bring moisture up to the cells of your skin.

While it's fun to jump on sexy trends and try new things, the truth is that when your skin starts to age you need to include specific ingredients inside of formulations that are catered to your aging skin, especially around your eye area.

That's where we, at Jentri Quinn, come in!

All of our products are made for the skin challenges you experience as you age, such as dry, textural issues, dehydration, uneven skin and sensitivities. We're not interested in making big unrealistic claims, we're interested in giving you the tools and creating thoughtful skincare products that help improve upon what you already have and help you healthily maintain it for as long as you can!

So let's talk about what can really work:

One ingredient that's often touted as a miracle worker for tired eyes is caffeine. And for good reason. It can help reduce puffiness and dark circles by constricting blood vessels. That's the main reason we chose coffee as our main super star ingredient in our best selling eye butter, Eye Dream of Coffee!

But remember, caffeine is just one part of the equation!

When it comes to aging, dry, and crepey skin, a nourishing eye cream is also key.

Look for ingredients like:

  • Retinol: A vitamin A derivative that stimulates collagen production and reduces fine lines.
  • Peptides: Building blocks of protein that help improve skin elasticity.
  • Hyaluronic acid: A humectant that draws moisture into the skin.
  • Ceramides: Lipids that help strengthen the skin barrier.

In addition to the ingredients mentioned above, consider incorporating:

  • Vitamin C: A powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from damage.
  • Niacinamide: A form of vitamin B3 that helps brighten the skin and reduce inflammation.
  • Green tea extract: Another antioxidant that can help soothe and protect the skin.

While it may take time to see results, a well-formulated PM eye cream can make a significant difference in the appearance of your eyes.

If you want to double down on your anti-aging eye area efforts, try our Age Defying PM Kit, featuring our nourishing Retinol formula and our PM eye cream to help you restore your tired, devitalized looking skin!

And did you know that our Whipped Olive Oil Face Butter now contains organic green tea?

By understanding the limitations of eye creams and choosing products that are tailored to your specific needs, you can take control of your aging skin and feel confident and refreshed.

Whatever you do, please don't get discouraged if you don't see immediate improvements with your skincare, and remember --  the more you know the more you glow!

xoxo
