What I’ve learned is that our skin effects our emotions. Our skin is our largest organ, and everything we eat, do, expose ourselves to and don’t, will affect the skin in some way. My entire list of summer skin tips will be appearing in Austin Woman Magazine soon, but here's my #1 skin care tip - Always and forever.
BTW- This pretty lady in the pic is Anupi, who's a team member /manager of ours at Cotone, and now a personal friend and Rep for JQ. After I helped her solve some skin care problems she was having last year, she knows better than anyone that protection is KEY and correction takes twice as long. But today, she has a fun time showing off her skin!
#1 Protect your skin!
When beaching it, use a minimum of SPF 30, which blocks 97 percent of the sun's UVB rays. Zinc Oxide is my favorite. Unlike many other chemical sunscreens, zinc oxide protects against UVA and UVB light rays and is used as a natural, non-toxic sunscreen in cosmetics, like my all natural and vegan products, to prevent burns, and signs of aging. Sometimes higher-number SPFs just mean more chemicals. UVA rays penetrate deep into the skin and can lead to premature skin damage/aging. UVB rays will usually burn the superficial layers of your skin and play a key role in the development of Melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer. Remember, when exposed to sun, SPF must be re-applied throughout the day.
