THIS Is Making You Age Faster (And What You Can Do To Stop It)!

Hey Beautiful,

Have you ever noticed how some candies get hard and sticky over time?

That's kind of what happens to our skin as we get older, thanks to a process called glycation.

So what exactly is glycation, and why should you care?

Let's break it down.

Collagen and elastin are the strong, stretchy fibers that keep your skin plump and bouncy. When you consume sugar, the sugar molecules can latch onto the collagen and elastin, making them stiff and less bouncy. This is glycation.

Sugar Rush = Skin Stress

Glycation = Aging Faster

So, what happens when the sugar keeps coming?

  • Wrinkles and fine lines: What happens to your skin when it loses its bounce.
  • Dullness: When sugar sticks to skin, it reflects light less effectively, making your skin look dull.
  • Loss of elasticity: When the stretchy fibers get damaged and skin sagging occurs.

But don't worry, besides consuming less sugar, here's some easy ways to help prevent this!

1.  Fiber First: Imagine fiber as a superhero cape that catches the sugar molecules before they can reach your skin. Eating veggies at the beginning of your meals helps slow down sugar absorption.

2. Ditch the Sugary Breakfast: Sugary drinks and processed foods are like a sugar hurricane for your skin! Limit them, especially first thing in the morning, to avoid a sugar spike. Your skin will thank you!

3. Add Spice Into Your Life: Did you know some spices like cinnamon and turmeric can help keep blood sugar levels in check? Add a dash of these to your meals or tea for anti-glycation power!

4. Sleep is Your Beauty BFF: When you're stressed, your body makes a hormone called cortisol, which can worsen glycation. Getting enough sleep isn't always possible or easy but it helps keep stress and cortisol levels down so aim for 8 hours a night for a good night's rest and healthier looking skin!

If you need a little extra help relaxing, try adding Magnesium Glycinate, L Theanine and/or organic full spectrum CBD to your nighttime routine to help you wind down.

5. Move It, Move It! I personally hate working out but exercise helps your body use sugar more efficiently. So, get your body moving with a fun activity you enjoy, like dancing, biking, at-home yoga, or going for a relaxing walk for 20-30 minute a day (what I love to do!).

Remember, taking care of your skin starts from the inside out. By following these simple health hacks, you can fight glycation and keep your skin looking healthy and radiant, regardless of your age!

The more you know the more you glow!

ps. using a serum with Hyaluronic Acid, followed by a good moisturizer made for mature skin and/or high quality face oil can help prevent water loss that can also lead to more signs of aging that you don't want!
